Every 5,000 Miles: The Foundation
Every 5,000 miles, we recommend a tire rotation and a visual inspection of your brakes, belts, and fluid levels. At this interval, we also top off washer fluid and take a quick look under the hood. 10,000 Miles: Oil and Filter Service

We also recommend a brake fluid flush at this stage. BMW brake fluid is hygroscopic — meaning it absorbs moisture from the air over time — which lowers its boiling point and can compromise stopping power. Fresh fluid restores full braking confidence.
60,000 Miles: Spark Plugs and Cooling System
Around the 60,000-mile mark, spark plugs on most X5 engines reach the end of their service life. Worn plugs affect fuel economy, throttle response, and cold-start performance. Replacing them at the recommended interval keeps the engine firing efficiently.
